You Are What
You Eat Farms

We're a family-run farm in northeast Indiana dedicated to healing soil, nurturing biodiversity, and growing nourishing food the way nature intended.

Our Mission

Farming in Partnership with Nature

At You Are What You Eat Farms, we believe that healthy soil is the foundation of healthy food, healthy people, and a healthy planet. That's why every decision we make starts with the soil.

Through regenerative and organic practices—including reduced tillage, diverse crop rotations, multispecies cover crops, living roots, compost, compost teas, organic fish emulsion, ocean minerals, rock minerals, mycorrhizal fungi, pollinator habitat, and chemical-free growing—we are rebuilding the living soil ecosystem that industrial agriculture has depleted. By working with nature instead of against it, we grow food that is more flavorful, nutrient-rich, and capable of nourishing people while restoring the earth.

We opened our gates to the community because we believe everyone deserves to know where their food comes from and how it's grown. Whether you're picking your own tomatoes, wandering through our flower fields, or learning about our honeybees, you're part of this journey back to working with nature.

Hands examining healthy regenerative soil

The Soil Journey

When we first took over this land, the soil was tired and depleted from decades of conventional farming. Today, it's teeming with life.

1

Assess & Listen

We started by testing the soil and observing what the land was telling us.

2

Build Organic Matter

Through cover crops, compost, and minimal disturbance, we began rebuilding the soil food web.

3

Diversify & Integrate

Multiple crops, pollinator habitats, and rotational grazing create a resilient ecosystem.
