Growing with Purpose,
Eating with Intention
We're a family who believes that the path to better food starts beneath our feet—in the living, breathing soil. Microbes are man's best friend.
How It All Started
You Are What You Eat Farms began with a simple question: What if we could grow food in a way that heals poisoned land, restores its mineral and microbial richness, and produces food that actually helps prevent disease in your body?
Like many farms in northeast Indiana, the land we purchased had been farmed conventionally for decades. The soil was compacted, low in organic matter, and dependent on synthetic inputs. We could see the problem, but we also saw the potential.
We started small—testing the soil, studying regenerative practices, and planting our first cover crops. We watched as earthworms returned, as the soil structure improved, as biodiversity began to flourish. What started as an experiment became a calling.
Today, You Are What You Eat Farms is a living laboratory and a community gathering place. We grow diverse crops, raise honeybees, and welcome visitors who want to reconnect with where their food comes from. But at our core, we're still asking that same question—and we're finding new answers every season.
What We Believe
Regenerative agriculture isn't just a set of practices—it's a way of thinking about our relationship with the land.
Soil First
Every decision starts with the soil. We feed the soil, and the soil feeds us.
Work with Nature
We observe natural patterns and work alongside them, not against them.
Community
We grow food for people, and we build relationships that nourish both.
Stewardship
We're not just farming for today—we're farming for the next generation.
What Makes Us Different
We don't just sustain—we regenerate. Conventional organic farming aims to do less harm. We aim to actively heal. Every season, we're building more organic matter, supporting more biodiversity, and sequestering more carbon than the year before.
We're transparent. We welcome you to walk our fields, ask questions, and see exactly how your food is grown. No hidden practices, no greenwashing—just honest farming.
We're diverse by design. Monocultures are fragile. That's why we grow dozens of crops, maintain pollinator habitats, and integrate animals into our system. Diversity creates resilience.
We're community-focused. This isn't just a farm—it's a place where families can learn, children can explore, and neighbors can connect over good food.
Be Part of the Story
Whether you visit the farm, follow our journey online, or simply choose to support regenerative agriculture, you're helping write the next chapter. We'd love to have you with us.
